déplorables les journalistes de notre époques. Depuis quand les patriotes sont violant? Qui massacre les populations en Cote D’Ivoire? Ou sont tirer c infos? des facts? non, des rumeurs! On dois me faire un décervelages pour que je croies a c conneries.

An interesting subject. 18,000 is the figure more commonly cited for the size of the Ivorian armed forces. I think you missed some key questions;
- what effect has several years of an arms embargo had?
- what can we learn from the brief exchange around the Golf hotel 2 weeks back, when the in a mild skirmish the soldiers fled and lost control of an armed vehicle?
- what would happen in the event of an ECOMOG intervention – would Ghanaian troops move in from the west, would the ex-rebels or Burkina Faso move south, would the UN and French (and Americans) provide logistical support?
- what is the morale in the army given that at least half the rank and file reportedly voted for Ouattara?
- what can we say about the Nigerian army that are likely to make up the bulk of any force?

Effectivement, les Sukhoï et les Mi-8 ont tous été détruit. Quelques appareils ont été rachetés par la Côte d’Ivoire selon plusieurs sources qui avancent la même chose.

Malgré un état pas toujours optimal, cela représente quelques dizaines de véhicules blindés (T-55, ERC90, VAB, BMP-1 …), une quinzaine d’hélicoptères (Mi-24, Mi-8, Puma) et une poignée d’avions de chasse (Mig-23 et Su-25).

Young man, get your facts right .. There is only 1 MI-24 with serious gearbox problems. 2 Transport helicopters .. Dunno where you got those fighter planes from! Don’t make us laugh….
